Size guide: measuring your dog before you order

One size too small, and your dog spills over the bed or the harness pinches. Take these measurements before you order: it takes two minutes with a tape measure.

The three useful measurements

  • Length lying down: dog lying in their favourite position, from nose to base of the tail. Used for beds.
  • Chest girth: just behind the front legs, at the widest point. Used for the harness.
  • Chest height: from the floor to the bottom of the chest, dog standing. Used for the raised bowls.

Beds

Add about fifteen centimetres to the length lying down. For a bolster bed or sofa, compare with the inner sleeping area.

Ramp, stairs and bowls

  • Wooden ramp: 70 cm (adjustable to 30 or 40 cm) or 100 cm (30, 40, 50 or 60 cm), for dogs up to about 20 kg. Measure the height of your sofa or bed.
  • Car stairs: adjustable to about 56 or 76 cm, up to 80 kg. Measure the height between the ground and the edge of the boot.
  • Raised bowls: 5 heights, from about 8 to 31 cm. Set them so the rim of the bowls is roughly level with the bottom of the chest.
